about us
Aged Care Maldives
Aged Care Maldives (ACM) is a non-profit NGO that strives to enrich the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of the elderly. ACM provides support services to aged and ageing persons and their families to empower them to better manage the physical and emotional challenges of ageing. ACM advocates for policies and a societal outlook that elevates the rights and dignity of the elderly.
Founded in 2008, ACM is a continuation of the Manfaa Centre on Ageing (2004) founded by Dr. Aminath Jameel and her husband Mohamed Ismail Maniku to address the challenges of elderly care in the Maldives.
Our Vision
To create a society where every older person of the Maldives has the opportunity to lead a healthy, active, and fulfilling life. We envision a future where the elderly receive the recognition, they deserve for being the assets they are.
Our Mission
Aged Care Maldives aims to create awareness on healthy ageing, and the prospects of how older persons can remain active, contributing members of society. Its mission is to educate the public on how the elderly can remain relevant, and to empower them with the knowledge and methods to retain their health, independence, and dignity.
